Ideas For Developing KDE Software

Cool ideas for KDE software that people would like to use

A KDE blog writer: like Blogtk http://blogtk.sourceforge.net/.
There is KBlog but the user that requested it said that it should let you input text in a window and then post it to any number of different blog server softwares out there.
It should handle MT, blogger, b2, etc... all from one app and no need to open a special login window through the browser. It should use movable types.
Proposal for a new bookmarks feature in Konqueror

With the huge growing body of documents/articles/news/references on the web, it is becoming increasingly harder to refine searches to find pieces of information which one has already read, even if it has been bookmarked. Even with search engines like Google, the refinement process is becoming harder and harder. Research which has been done and bookmarked is equally frustrating to manage because of the time consuming nature of classifying and categorizing them (much like a messy desk). Computers are supposed to automate as much as possible so that less work is required, and that work should be done as seamlessly and invisibly as possible.
There are two elements to this proposal, none of which have been done in any other sort of system and/or browser. A short description of each is as follows:

1) A new feature called "Temporary Bookmarks" should be created in the Konqueror window. A quick "control-keystroke" can be created to facilitate temporary bookmarking of pages. As a person browses reams of articles, references, and lists online, that user can simply "tempmark" any page which is deemed of interest. This would then automatically send a bookmark to a "Temporary Bookmarks Folder", marked by date and time. Once such a bookmark exists, it is automatically added into a simple database structure on the user's PC. Whether or not the bookmark ends up in a single directory or is cached in sub-folders by date/time is currently up for discussion.

2) A new feature called "Bookmark Search" must then be implemented. Within Konqueror, a new search field can be added at the top, or simply brought up with another keystroke. Using something such as the Google API, or another search engine, the user then has the ability to input any text and search his or her bookmarks which were tempmarked. The API ideally would send out the search function through another search engine such as Google, but only in reference to those bookmarks in the user's PC. Then it could return the results in a window for the user to click on and view each page which met those criteria of that particular search.

Conclusion:
Instead of searching through hundreds of thousands of pages on Google.com (or any other search engine) for something which the user has already read and wishes to look up again, the search is confined ONLY to places which the user knows it will be found. The effect is simple but revolutionary as it would enable each user to create their own customized and refined search engine on their own PC, saving them incredible amounts of time. There would no longer be much need of categorizing bookmarks (though maybe a category function could later be added to the bookmarking procedure), as anything that is read by the PC user, and deemed noteworthy, will be instantly available within a few seconds, without wading through thousands of unwanted links. This function would also enable searches to be much more intelligent and there would be much less need for very long sentences in which to refine each particular search.

I hope someone finds this project useful and implement it. It would revolutionize something which computers are finding harder and harder to accomplish: the simple process of instant recall.
