Questions

What are your hobbies?
guitar, karate, reading

When did you get involved in KDE?
In 2000, I started translating some KDE applications to French because I realized that open source projects were done by ordinary people and that even a small participation to it will help improve it. I was amazed by the KDE community and now I do my best to help other people.

Where and when did you see KDE for the first time?
When I installed RedHat6.0 which was my first contact with Linux, I got the CD in a non-Linux magazine (PC Home magazine)

How do you contribute to KDE?
I develop small educational applications (KHangMan, KLettres, Kard, KGameOfLife) , I contribute to the KDE-Edu and KDE-Women websites and translate the KDevelop website to French.

Screenshot of your desktop or your theme:
Desktop

It's really plain, a wallpaper that my daughter Léah likes and Keramic. I change the wallpaper but I never use themes.

Why is KDE-Women important for you?
Having more women around would be nice. As we are a minority, it's important to encourage other to join. Please note that is not segregation at all, we all are actively involved in other KDE projects. The website is a place where we can show what we like to do in KDE.

How much time do you usually spend on KDE?
1 to 2 hours a day. Opposite to other people, on holidays I have very few times as when the kids are on holiday, I usually have a lot to do, especially driving them around and feeding them... Well, with KRecipes, I guess KDE will be present even in the kitchen!

What is missing badly in KDE?
More educational software :-)

What was your first computer?
An Amstrad CPC- clone. I learned a bit of BASIC with it and spent numerous hours typing games code...

Which section of KDE is underrated and could get more publicity?
The Edutainment one? KStars is an amazing application, Kig (Interactive Geometry) will be THE new one in 3.2, please be sure to try it. I think the Accessibility project also would need more support, it won an Award in France last May.

When did you start to use KDE on a daily basis?
Something like 2 years ago.

What is the worst thing you ever had to do for KDE?
I don't think there can be one. Even giving a talk to the London Linux Expo in 2001 was fun, despite my very bad spoken english.
